SnagIt can be used to capture screen shots, add text, and post directly to a host of blogging services including LiveJournal, TypePad, Moveable Type or Wordpress. The purpose is to enable the procedure of taking screen shots and posting them to blogs faster and more automated. The actual service works as a desktop application, and getting your screen shot is easy enough, using SnagIt’s tools. Select the area of the screen you’d like to capture, and go from there. Images can be resized and tweaked with a few basic options.

Depending on which type of blogging account you’re using in conjunction with SnagIt, a button will appear at the top of the application which opens up an editing window for your blog entry. Enter and format the text, select where you’d like your image to appear, and you’re all set. The latest (and quite useful) update to this SnagIt tool is a “draft” option for your posts. Otherwise, your post will be published directly. The site seems to be an extension of the MyFox initiative, which aims to bring a more personalized news page to local viewers.
